The Bosch Greentherm 9000 Series offers nine models for high-efficiency domestic hot water in residential or commercial applications with features for easy installation, operation and maintenance. The Greentherm 9000 Series features a Uniform Energy Factor of 0.96. This series achieves temperature stability of plus or minus 2° F through the active bypass, according to Bosch. Furthermore, its advanced technology controls output capacity, optimizing comfort and efficiency by combining the burner's pulsating mode with the bypass valve to achieve the desired outlet temperature, even at low flow rates.
Its wide operating range – between 9,000 and 199,000 Btu, saves energy when hot water demand is low, the company notes. The premium 9900i SE model has a unique, stylish glass front and integrated Wi-Fi control – also an option on other models – enabling the homeowner to control the water heater remotely via a free mobile app. The Wi-Fi module communicates with the app to provide operating performance information to the user, and sends any alerts directly to a compatible smartphone. Outdoor models feature a concealed, built-in controller with optional Wi-Fi connectivity. Each model offers simple conversion to LPG using the included manifold injector kit, which eliminates stocking both LP and NG units, thus saving the wholesaler’s inventory cost.
Installation permits up to 60 feet of venting with two-inch pipe, or 280 feet of venting with three-inch pipe, using a wide range of venting material options. The Greentherm 9000 Series requires no dedicated return line, decreasing wait time for hot water at the tap, thus reducing water waste and saving an estimated 11,000 gallons a year per household.
The commercial Greentherm 9000 models offer heavy-duty primary and secondary heat exchangers for longer lifespan, and deliver water supply temperature to 140°F. Systems also can be cascaded up to 24 units to achieve flow rates of more than 200 gallons per minute – ideal for commercial buildings, schools and hotels.
