Horizon Services General Sales Manager John H. Cameron Jr. died at home on Sunday, October 28, 2018. He was 55.

Cameron Jr. was a 1981 graduate of Unionville High School. He served our country as a Submariner in the United States Navy from 1983 – 1987 on the USS Skate and the USS Swordfish. He was a true patriot. Each year he proudly participated in Veterans Day celebrations with his daughters, Madeleine and Holly.

As a young boy, he worked in his family's heating and air conditioning business, John H. Cameron and Sons. He worked in the company in different capacities until he found his true calling — sales. After his father sold the family business, Cameron Jr. went on to work for Conectiv Services in Wilmington, DE (1996 – 1999) and then Service Experts in Danbury, CT in 1999. From 2000 – 2009 he was a salesman for Oliver Heating and Cooling in Morton, PA. In 2009, he joined Delaware-based Horizon Services as sales manager during a time of incredible growth.

He was a key member of Horizon's executive management team, and led their expansion in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Additionally, he was directly involved in the development of the Horizon sales process, building sales teams, and determining the direction and culture of Horizon's Comfort Consultants.

In 2019 Horizon Services established an award in his name to honor his significant impact on the HVAC industry as well as the company's culture.

“John created a legacy renowned throughout the country,” said Dave Geiger, founder and CEO of Horizon Services. “He was an integral part of so many achievements. His loss is felt in every corner of the company, from our call centers and warehouses to teams in finance and marketing.”

Cameron Jr. was well known and respected in the HVAC industry throughout the United States. His professional affiliations include Sandler Sales Corporation President's Club, the International Ground Source Heat Pump Association, Home Depot HVAC Sales Boot Camp and extensive Dale Carnegie Courses. Family and friends celebrated his life on Saturday, November 10, 2018, at the Mendenhall Inn, Mendenhall, PA. The memorial service included full military honors.
