AGE: 28
COMPANY: Dierolf Plumbing & Water Treatment, Gilbertsville, Pennsylvania
TITLE: Plumber

How long have you been in the PHCP-PVF industry?
LN:
I have been working in the industry since 2017, when I decided to resign from my master’s degree studies at Jagiellonian University in Kraków, Poland, and shifted my career to become a plumber.

What drew you into the industry?
LN:
Inspiration to be the tradesman came from Wayne Flok, who was my former supervisor, and now he is my good friend. Wayne showed me that tradesmen should be well educated, kind, helpful and have a high quality of life.

What is the most rewarding aspect of working in the industry?
LN:
Helping people. Helping people gives me a lot of satisfaction, especially when the job is done well!

What is one thing you wish more people knew/understood about the PHCP-PVF industry?
LN:
A lot of people think that work in this industry is simple. Not at all. This trade is based on constant growth, flowing trends, new technologies and solutions. That requires constant personal growth and education.

What has been the proudest moment in your career so far?
LN:
Aside from this great award for Top 20 Under 40, I was most proud of my activity in Europe as the owner of a successful business, “Plumbing and Gas Solutions.”

What is one thing most people don’t know about you?
LN:
The thing that most people don't know about me is that I took a trip on bicycle from Poland to Greece and it was about 1,000 miles. It is a distance comparable between New York and Orlando, Florida.

Why he was chosen as a Next Gen All Star Top 20 Under 40 winner:
“Lukasz began his career in Poland, where he entered the industry as a commercial plumbing apprentice. In 2018, he established his own plumbing business, Plumbing & Gas Solutions, where he specialized in residential plumbing and heating, specifically radiant heat design and installations. He earned certifications through Buderus, Bosch and Viessmann. He quickly developed a reputation for impeccable quality and a desire to do every job right the first time.

“In August 2021, he was awarded a work visa and traveled to the United States where he hoped to earn his master’s license and continue to advance in the plumbing industry. He joined the team at Dierolf Plumbing & Water Treatment where he has impressed at every turn. He has quickly demonstrated the skills, knowledge and ambition that will carry him very far in the trade. His consistent 5-star customer reviews are a testimony to his expertise, top-notch customer service and quality craftsmanship. He maintains a positive attitude in the most trying times, while always striving to learn and grow each day. Any time he has encountered an unfamiliar area or challenging task, he has shown a willingness to ask questions, a desire to fully comprehend both the theoretical and mechanical underpinnings and the patience to serve customers the right way.

“He is an active participant in all company training, earning water treatment certifications through Canature and Stenner Pump companies. Additionally, he has completed his TracPipe certification, Pentair Well Pump Training, as well as completed countless courses on the Watts online training portal and is currently earning his tankless water heater certification through Rinnai. Outside of company training, he has demonstrated even greater ambition, improving his English skills, independently studying the IPC code book, and is set to sit for his ICC Journeyman's test in August.

“In an industry where we are losing so many qualified and experienced tradesmen, it is refreshing to see such a highly motivated, people-oriented and selfless young man stepping up to fill the void. We are thrilled to have Lukasz as a team member and grateful for all that he does to take care of our valued customers!” says Matt Waller of Dierolf Plumbing & Water Treatment.
