Merry Beth (Hyland) Hall, 54, of Richmond, Virginia, died Feb. 19.
Hall was the executive director of the PHCC of Virginia chapter before joining the PHCC Educational Foundation staff team in 2005. Over the following 13 years, she oversaw the process to update the Foundation's apprentice textbook series and created the first generation of online training courses for the PHCC plumbing and HVACR apprenticeship training programs.
Hall also oversaw the annual SkillsUSA Plumbing Championship and the Foundation's National Plumbing and HVAC Apprentice Contests.
"She was essential in laying the groundwork for the current success of the Foundation," said the PHCC Educational Foundation in social media post. "She was hard-working, fun-loving and had a wide range of interests; including performing at the Kennedy Center at Christmas and playing French horn with the Richmond Philharmonic."
In lieu of flowers, Hall's family requested PHCC members wishing to make a gift in her memory, that they consider making a contribution to the PHCC Educational Foundation.
All gifts made through this donation page will be allocated to the Invest in Your Future Annual Giving Campaign, which supports scholarships, apprentice programs and other workforce development initiatives.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 25 at Wesley United Methodist Church, 711 Spring St. SE, Vienna, VA.
