The International Code Council's PMG group is hosting a free online training event — ICC Learn Live! on Wednesday, Dec. 6, from 12-1:30 p.m. CST. "Plumbing Pipe Sizing: Why it is Important," will offer .15 CEUs for those who attend.
The presneters for this online event will be Gary Klein, John Lansing and Dr. Esber Andiroglu.
Klein is president of Gary Klein & Associates, Inc. and has been involved in energy efficiency and renewable energy since 1974. Since the early 1990s he has led the effort to incorporate “hot water as a system” into the core principles of building science. After serving 19 years with the California Energy Commission, he has provided consulting on sustainability since 2008, with an emphasis on the water-energy-carbon-health connection.
Lansing is a lead plumbing designer at PAE, a consulting engineering firm in Portland, Oregon. John specializes in applying sustainable solutions to plumbing systems and research on international engineering design guidance and serves on various code and standard technical committees. John has authored numerous publications through the American Society of Plumbing Engineers, the World Plumbing Council, and ASHRAE.
Andiroglu is an Associate Professor of Practice at the University of Miami, FL in the Department of Civil, Architectural and Environmental Engineering with a secondary appointment at School of Architecture. In addition, he is the Director of MS in Construction Management Program offered by the College of Engineering. He is a registered Professional Engineer and a LEED AP accredited educator with academic focus on building environmental systems, water resources and sustainability areas.
