How long have you been in the PHCP-PVF industry?
JH: Two years.
What drew you into the industry?
JH: I am genuinely curious and love learning new things. Considering a career change to join the trades for a more hands-on position, I was fortunate to find Caleffi. Their emphasis on education has taught me about an industry I had never understood before and allowed me to work alongside industry professionals who are eager to share their knowledge.
What is the most rewarding aspect of working in the industry?
JH: Traveling to the field or attending tradeshows to connect with professionals who are eager to share their experiences and insights on industry progress is truly rewarding. It's fulfilling to witness and contribute to the industry's collective commitment to delivering effective, efficient, reliable and safe systems to consumers.
What motivates you every day?
JH: There are hardworking individuals in the trades, and I want to ensure that the products I help develop make their lives and the lives of end users easier. There is tremendous growth potential for technology in this industry that excites me and motivates me to work every day.
What is one thing you wish more people knew/understood about the PHCP-PVF industry?
JH: Unfortunately, because systems are often out of sight and out of mind, the complexity and skill involved in their design and installation are not fully appreciated by those outside the industry. When a plumbing or HVAC system is designed and installed correctly, it provides peace of mind, allowing people to go about their lives without having to think about it.
What has been your proudest moment in your career so far?
JH: Recently being voted Colleague of the Year by my peers at Caleffi.
What is one thing most people don’t know about you?
JH: I played on the drumline during high school and can still keep a beat.
