How long have you been in the PHCP-PVF industry?
DM: Three years.
What drew you into the industry?
DM: My father worked in HVAC and refrigeration as a mechanic for his whole career. I dove into plumbing having no prior MEP engineering knowledge, other than things I’ve picked up from him over the years, and have loved it and learned from the ground up.
What is the most rewarding aspect of working in the industry?
DM: Being able to see the amount of work and coordination go into a simple project and watch it form from a beginning schematic phase to completion is very gratifying.
What motivates you every day?
DM: The ability to gain knowledge about new systems, codes, and building types makes me eager to start my day because continually educating and learning is a large part of the PHCP-PVF industry.
What is one thing you wish more people knew/understood about the PHCP-PVF industry?
DM: In my experience, whether you work as an engineer, a representative, or installer, the industry is a family willing to learn, teach, and work with each other to reach a goal. As long as you ask a question, people are always willing to offer assistance and advice.
What has been your proudest moment in your career so far?
DM: Earning and completing my CPD Certification after only a year of being in the industry.
What is one thing most people don’t know about you?
DM: I am an Eagle Scout.
