Trey Cutler
How long have you been in the PHCP-PVF industry?
TC: 13 years
What drew you into the industry?
TC: My father started Niagara in the 1970s out of his garage in New Jersey. Growing up I always wanted to work for the family business and continue the Niagara legacy, mainly because of what Niagara stands for. My dad’s goal when he started Niagara was to create products that would conserve water without sacrificing performance. Growing up seeing the innovations my family dreamed up go from conception to reality was incredible, and now I get to be a part of the process.
What motivates you every day?
TC: My team! I am so lucky to not only get to work with family but to be able to work with a tight group of incredible professionals who are just as passionate about Niagara as I am. We work hard to provide solutions for our customers not only to bring in revenue but provide a long-term solution to problems many plumbing professionals have. It’s also rewarding to educate people in our industry on Niagara’s products and how important water conservation is to not only our near future but our present.
What is one thing you wish more people knew/understood about the PHCP-PVF industry?
TC: Change takes time and unfortunately it won’t happen overnight. Patience is key in our industry, and you have to sustain yourself with perseverance while you’re waiting for a project to finalize or a product to be manufactured. Great things are always coming down the pipeline, it is just about who is willing to wait for them.
What has been your proudest moment in your career so far?
TC: Accepting the WaterSmart innovations award on behalf of Niagara in 2021.
What is one thing most people don’t know about you?
TC: I absolutely love extremely spicy foods. I can eat the world’s hottest peppers with no problem.
