Dwight L. "Ike" Casey is the new Executive Vice President of the PHCC-NA, effective February 15, 2001. Ike has been Executive Vice President of the Independent Electrical Contractors Inc., based in Alexandria, Va., for the past 11 years. Under his direction the organization has grown from a staff of two and a budget of $300,000, into one with a staff of 12 and a budget of just under $4 million. Growth also has been realized in membership, number of chapters, training and influence.
Prior to his tenure with IEC, Ike was director of membership services for the American Subcontractors Association, Alexandria, Va., which serves more than 7,500 small businesses in the construction industry. He has also served as the executive director of the ASA of the Carolinas in Charlotte, NC., and assistant manager of the Carolinas' Chapter of the National Electrical Contractors Association in Charlotte.
Before his work with construction-related trade associations, the native of Charlotte, was a teacher/coach in the Charlotte Mecklenburg School System, Charlotte, N.C.
A resident of Fort Washington, Md., Ike received his bachelor's degree from North Carolina State University and also attended the University of North Carolina-Charlotte. He also completed three years of a state-approved electrician apprenticeship training program in North Carolina.
