Now in its 11th year, the community service program provides free home heating inspection and service to senior citizens and disabled homeowners, and helps prevent heating hazards that can go unnoticed without regular maintenance.
Last year's program, coordinated nationally, involved more than 766 journeymen in 10 cities. Volunteers worked on weekends in September and October, and inspected more than 671 homes, made heating equipment repairs and installed smoke and carbon
monoxide detectors for those in need.
Contact a local MSCA to get your company involved in the next program. Participation forms and a step-by-step guide are available from MSCA through Adrienne Breedlove. You can e-mail her at adrienne@mcaa.org.
