The SprinkCAD division of Tyco Fire & Building Products recently announced the inclusion of its SprinkFDT program into the Advanced Fire System Design course currently offered at Oklahoma State University.

SprinkFDT allows sprinkler designers to accurately predict the time it takes to trip a dry valve and deliver water to the remote area in a dry sprinkler system without the requirement of a physical trip test.

Fire Protection and Safety Technology professor Pat Brock, who has taught fire system design at OSU since 1975, says he included the software in his curriculum to keep both himself and his students abreast of changing fire protection technology.
