IL Licensing Bill On Hold
Illinois Senate Bill 1880, which would require that only licensed electricians plan, install, repair and maintain wiring and equipment for electrical light, heat and power, is in a holding pattern. It is a shell bill with its previous language stripped out, and the parties involved -- electrical, plumbing and HVAC unions -- are still drafting new language. All parties must agree on new language before the bill can go forward.
