Mueller Water Products, a subsidiary of Walter Industries, bought the operating assets of Vernon, Conn.-based CCNE LLC, a privately held contract producer and distributor of check valves used in water and wastewater treatment and distribution systems, for nearly $8.8 million.

The CCNE operations and assets will be consolidated into Milliken Valve Co.'s Bethlehem, Pa., facility, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of Mueller.
