These industry movers and shakers are making headlines.

  • Lennox International CEO Robert E. Schjerven announced his intention to retire by mid-2007. An internal and external search for his successor is being conducted.

    In other news, the company has realigned the leadership of its heating and cooling business segments. Harry Bizios was appointed president and COO of the Commercial Heating and Cooling segment. He was previously the vice president and general manager of the Worldwide Commercial Systems segment. Doug Young was appointed president and COO of the Residential Heating and Cooling segment. He was previously the vice president and general manager of the North American Residential Products segment.

    Based on this realignment, Heating and Cooling President and COO Bob McDonough agreed to leave the company after a transition period.

     

  • Victor E. Post was named vice president of business development of Briggs Industries. Post has experience in product development, sales, marketing and management with previous positions at Gerber, Kohler, Hewlett-Packard, Porter Cable and Nokia.

     

  • Julien Home Refinements promoted Lloyd LeBlanc to vice president, overseeing all communications, marketing and branding for Julien’s residential and commercial divisions. As Julien’s former director of residential development, LeBlanc has spent the last few years focusing on branding the company’s residential division.

     

  • The Home Depot named Jim Summers as its new director of the Tool Rental Center. Summers joined the Home Depot in 2004 as a district manager in the southwest region. Prior to joining Home Depot, he worked for 7-Eleven Inc. for 13 years.

     

  • M.K. Morse Co., a manufacturer of professional quality saw blades, named Kent Hughes as national sales manager of industrial products. Hughes had spent the past three years as a strategic account manager for the steel service center business and large volume end-users at a leading saw blade manufacturer.

     

  • RuB Inc. appointed Tom Scholato as east regional sales manager. He joined RuB in April 2006 after successful sales assignments with Ridge Tool and Viega North America.

     

  • BrassCraft appointed Larry Griffin as channel manager for wholesale sales, and Beth Vessels as retail channel manager. Griffin’s most recent assignment was as the company’s channel manager for retail sales; Vessels came from Tapco International.

     

  • Court Carruthers was named president of Grainger’s Canadian subsidiary, Acklands-Grainger Inc. Most recently he was the company’s vice president of national accounts and sales.

     

  • Decorative faucet manufacturer Graff appointed Paul Barr as director of sales, and Dale Archer as field sales manager.

     

  • Dick Isaacs was named director of North American operations for Mariner s.r.l., located in Milan, Italy.

     

  • Watts Water Technologies named Bob Bilodeau national marketing manager-Watts wholesale marketing.

     

  • Roy Sutterfield, president of Perfection Corp., has been promoted to president of Perfection’s parent company, American Meter Co. (AMCO). AMCO is part of Elster Group, a worldwide leader in technologies serving gas, electric and water utilities.

     

  • Triangle Tube/Phase III has announced the promotion of Jim Nicholas to director of engineering. He previously was manager of application engineering. Triangle also hired Greg Manna, a former mechanical contractor commercial field supervisor, to its Technical Service Department; and Michael Senk, a heating system engineer, has joined its Engineering Department.
