Bringing an extensive background in public affairs and government relations, Jessica Johnson Bennett joined PHCC in late December 2007 as Director of Government Relations.
Johnson Bennett is especially well versed in small business, construction, trade, labor and energy-related issues as a result of her experience in Congress, trade associations and the consulting field.
Johnson Bennett most recently was Director of Government Affairs for the Mason Contractors of America, which shares several topics of concern with PHCC. In addition to handling issues related to small business and the construction industry, she was responsible for management of the Political Action Committee (PAC), as well as PAC fundraising activities.
Prior to her time at MCAA, Johnson Bennett served for three years as a senior consultant for the international management and technology consulting firm, Booz Allen Hamilton. During her tenure at Booz Allen Hamilton she advised clients on homeland security, infrastructure protection and food safety/security issues. Her clients included several federal and state government agencies and private sector corporations.
Before her position with Booz Allen, she served in the Public Policy Department at the American Farm Bureau Federation and worked for two members of Congress.
She is a graduate of Arkansas State University, with a degree in public relations, and she is currently pursuing her master’s degree in public policy at Georgetown University.
