EnerWorks solar water heating appliances have been named the first to qualify for the Department of Energy’s new Energy Star® residential water heater program.

EnerWorks’ two, three and four collector High Performance appliances, as well as all SpaceSaver™ single-tank solar + electric appliances, bear the Energy Star registered trademark.

In the company announcement, EnerWorks President and CEOPhil Whitingsaid being the first solar water heaters to qualify is a testament to EnerWorks’s dedication to the program, as well as confirmation of the efficiency and performance of EnerWorks appliances. “The Energy Star label is synonymous with energy efficiency, so consumers now have added confidence in the selection of solar water heating appliances.”

The Energy Star program for residential water heaters went into effect Jan. 1, 2009. Qualifying products are posted on the EnergyStar Web site:www.energystar.gov/index.cfm?fuseaction=solar_wheat.display_products_html.
