Fortune’s Most Admired list is the definitive report card on corporate reputations. The annual ranking was compiled starting with some 1,400 companies and, after sorting, surveying 689 companies in 64 industries from 28 countries. The Hay Group,Fortune’s survey partner, asked 4,047 executives, directors and analysts to rate companies in their industry on nine criteria - from investment value to social responsibility. A company’s score must rank in the top half of its industry survey.
The full list of companies appears in the March 16, 2009, edition ofFortune, and is currently available atwww.fortune.com.
