The Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors-National Association (PHCC) has established a financial relief program to assist its members who were adversely affected by Hurricane Sandy. Those who need assistance because of the superstorm may ask that their 2013 national dues be forgiven and also may request a cash grant of up to $1,000. In addition, state and local chapters may be willing to waive dues for members.

“Many of our members in the northeast were severely impacted by this damaging storm,” said PHCC PresidentDavid Dugger. “We’re hopeful that this assistance will help get them back on their feet and be ready for business as usual soon.”

The assistance was recently approved by the PHCC Board of Directors, which designated the use of funds from the PHCC Board of Directors’ Reserve Fund. The board also approved establishing a PHCC Disaster Fund that would include contributions from PHCC members, now and in the future, this fund that would be available to help members in need as determined by the Board of Directors.

“Since the superstorm occurred, PHCC members have been asking how they can help PHCC members who were impacted,” Dugger said. “This new fund will give them an option to directly assist PHCC contractors in need by providing a tax-free donation.”
