Porter-Cable launches two new infrared thermometers, including the PCC581B (pictured) that is compatible with 18 Volt PORTER-CABLE lithium-ion or NiCd batteries. The units take a reference temperature reading while displaying a green circle beam onto the surface at which it is aimed. The color of the beam changes when a difference in temperature is detected; blue identifies a cool spot and red shows a hot spot. The thermometers have a working temperature range of -22 to 590 degrees Fahrenheit, a temperature accuracy of plus/minus 1.8 degrees, and a 12:1 distance-to-spot ratio for accuracy. The thermometers offer 10 memory settings that allow users to record measurements.
