Former vice president Al Gore has received the nod from his community officials to install a planned 33 solar panels on his Tennessee property.

Former vice president Al Gore, who has of late become a leading voice confronting global warming, has received the nod from his community officials to install a planned 33 solar panels on his property.

A spokeswoman for Gore told the Associated Press that the family's 70-year-old home in the posh Belle Meade section of Nashville will be upgraded with a new furnace, windows, solar vents and radiant in-floor heating.
