The Air Conditioning Contractors of America and the Residential Energy Service Network are teaming up to promote home performance contracting to customers and government entities and Energy Smart Home Performance Teams. They will coordinate messaging efforts at future industry conferences and work toward code changes to include the HERS Index, which is the industry standard by which a home’s energy efficiency is measured.
To solidify this partnership, ACCA and RESNET signed a Memorandum of Understanding July 18, in which they agreed to work together to promote home performance contracting across the country.
“ACCA and RESNET have had a long history of working together to draw attention to the benefits of home performance services,” said Paul T. Stalknecht, ACCA president and CEO. “We believe that by continuing this partnership with RESNET, we can help contractors provide quality services, with measurable results, that improve homeowners’ daily lives.”
Steve Baden, RESNET executive director, added: “When organizations like RESNET and ACCA work together, the entire industry gets stronger. We are pleased that we can expand our partnership, so that not only homeowners, but also local, state and federal governments and utilities realize that working with professional home performance contractors creates a more comfortable and energy-efficient living environment.”
