United Kingdom-based Viridian Solar unveiled its Pod solar device March 4 at this year’s Ecobuild in the UK. The Pod is a solar heat store where cold water is rapidly preheated on demand as it flows through a high-surface area coil of pipe inside the unit before entering the existing heating system. Its horizontal format means it will slide into the tightest corner. The only work inside the house is to run piping to feed the solar-heated water to the existing heating system.

It comes in two versions: Pod-PV and Pod-ST. The solar thermal version includes an integrated solar controller and pump station.  It can be used in either drain-back or pressurized format. Click here for more information.
