The United Association and the Natural Resources Defense Council have proposed a code change to the 2015 edition of the Uniform Plumbing Code to require insulation of all hot water piping systems such as those serving lavatories, showers, dishwashers and kitchen sinks.
Polypropylene pipe is officially included in the 2014 California Plumbing Code as part of the new California Building Standards Commission (CBSC) codes that took effect January 1, 2014.
