PPI PresidentDavid M. Finkpresented the award to Palermo during the association’s annual meeting in May. PPI is the major North American trade association representing the plastic pipe industry.
Over the past 60 years, plastic piping materials have evolved from a new alternative to the material of choice for building and construction applications such as hot- and cold-water plumbing distribution, fire protection and mechanical systems like hydronics and chilled water.
Uponor PP-RCT is a polypropylene pipe that is a lightweight, durable product that resists corrosion, rust and scale buildup, making it ideal for mechanical HVAC piping applications, such as hydronic heating, hot water and chilled water, the company points out.
The facility currently operates as two separate plants – one specializing in automotive painted exterior components, the other in PEXa piping for plumbing and radiant heating systems and gaskets for household appliances.
The calculator allows the user to select either IP/US or Metric/SI working units, as well as multiple fluids (e.g., water, propylene glycol, ethylene glycol). Fluid temperatures and mix ratios are chosen by the user, and results can be viewed, printed or emailed.
