The Kalahari water park resort in Wisconsin Dells has
installed 104 water-heating solar panels for an estimated utility savings of 10%
a year (about $400,000).
Watts Radiant expects to train hundreds
of plumbing and mechanical contractors at its facility as well as at several
regional locations throughout 2008.
Scientists estimate that
within the continental United States there is a sizable resource of accessible
geothermal energy – about 3,000 times the current annual U.S. consumption.
However, tapping this energy has been difficult and expensive due to digging
and drilling without a clear location.
In its largest acquisition to-date, The
Grundfos Group announced it has acquired Peerless Pump Co., a U.S.-based
manufacturer of pumps and fire protection systems.
