The Greenbuild International Conference and Expo was held Oct. 5-7 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. This was the 15th Greenbuild and its theme this year was “Iconic GREEN.” In their welcome article in the event’s program, USGBC CEO Rick Fedrizzi and USGBC board of directors chair Fiona Cousins talked about Los Angeles and the icons of the silver screen it represents. Then: “But a new kind of icon is also coming to define this exceptional city as well as our movement — those that personify excellence and commitment to the best in sustainability practice and innovation. We’re excited to celebrate them all.”
Greenbuild 2016 drew enthusiastic crowds to attend educational presentations, workshops, green building tours and to participate in Expo Hall activities where more than 450 companies, including some familiar names in the plumbing industry, showed off their latest products, projects and programs. Kohler joined with names like LG and United Technologies to form a triumvirate of Platinum sponsors. The company provided free consultations with LEED water-saving experts or interior designers during the event and asked attendees to pledge to take six-minute showers.
