After Al Gore, the next unlikely spokesperson for sustainability won’t be a person at all, according to Adam Gendell, of the Sustainable Packaging Coalition. Instead, it will be a spokes-turtle. “We are at ground zero for the current landscape around packaging,” he said. “The emotional response is that plastic is bad — not plastic packaging, not plastic waste in the ocean. There’s a giant bullseye painted on plastic today.”
