Last summer, President Joe Biden signed the Inflation Reduction Act into law. The estimated $737 billion legislation could mean thousands of dollars to improve building efficiency. The law aims to fight inflation, invest in domestic energy production and manufacturing and reduce carbon emissions.
The Act presents an opportunity for plumbing and HVAC contractors, who can leverage tax credits when selling system upgrades to their customers. However, with more homeowners taking advantage of this new legislation and tax credits, it puts a strain on home service contractors who are already short-staffed as it is.
Plumbing & Mechanical Chief Editor Nicole Krawcke sat down with Chris Hunter, a former contractor and director of customer relations or ServiceTitan, to discuss what the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) means for the trades and how contractors can prepare and maximize their existing labor using technology.
