Neighborly, a home services company, announced the promotion of Courtney Kolar to the newly created role of chief people officer. Kolar will report to interim CEO Jon Shell and serve as a member of the company’s executive leadership team.
Most recently, Kolar served as senior vice president of people services. Prior to that, she held the roles of vice president of people services, senior director of people services, and director of national recruiting and retention. Her extensive experience spans associate relations, talent acquisition, talent management, performance management, training and development, payroll, benefits, corporate facilities management, and capital project execution.
“Courtney has been an integral part of our journey and exemplifies our Code of Values,” said Shell. “She has been pivotal in transforming our People Services department into a proactive team of strategic business partners supporting our approximately 2,000 performance-driven associates. This evolution has fostered a people-focused culture, emphasizing collaboration, transparency, and respect that has been instrumental in Neighborly’s growth.”
As chief people officer for Neighborly, Kolar will be responsible for all aspects of the human resources function and drive strategies to optimize associate and business success. She will continue to lead Neighborly’s best-in-class talent acquisition and management programs focused on developing and refining human capital management technology solutions, supporting acquisitions and integrations, executing the employment branding strategy, and enhancing the company’s total rewards offerings.
Before joining Neighborly, Kolar spent nearly nine years in various roles, including human resources leadership roles at Kohl’s Department Stores. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from Texas A&M University. Kolar has earned multiple certifications from HRCI, global leader in professional credentialing for the HR profession.
