Bradley Company’s space-saving Halo Swing-Activated Faucet and Eyewash is now available with an additional higher-profile faucet option that increases handwashing space for users, a recent announcement said.

The innovative dual-use design of the Halo Swing-Activated Faucet and Eyewash provides a reliable and compact faucet and eyewash solution for use in any work or laboratory environment. The combined swing-activated model features a choice of two gooseneck faucets for regular use, such as handwashing, along with a built-in emergency eyewash featuring Halo technology that is proven to deliver the most effective eye washdown coverage available.

The new faucet option also features a gooseneck faucet with a spout that rises 15.78” above the fixture, allowing for greater reach. The original gooseneck faucet option, which is still available, features a lower-profile spout that rises 11.75” above the fixture. The new high-profile option features a 180-degree return on the faucet, pointing the faucet directly down into bowl, which is a requirement in some markets.

“Halo Swing-Activated Faucet Eyewash accomplishes two very important washing functions and now having a choice of faucet options make the product even more versatile,” Senior Product Manager Ryan Pfund said in a public statement. “Some of our customers preferred a faucet option with a higher arc so we designed this higher-profile option to make sure those needs are met as well.”

The announcement said there are now four swing-activated models available, including two higher-profile faucet options that feature the eyewash on either the right or left side of the fixture, as well as two lower- profile faucet options that feature the eyewash on the right or left side.

During regular faucet use, the eyewash is stored out of the way. In an emergency, the eyewash is immediately activated when it is swung out 90 degrees over the sink. When the eyewash is activated, the patented swing-activated design ensures that the faucet moves out of the way, positioning the eyewash directly over the sink and allowing clear access to the fixture. With the eyewash in the optimal position over the sink, water is contained in the sink without dripping or spraying on countertops and floors, which can create mess and risk of slipping and falling.

The swing-activated model is designed for a variety of workspaces and, in particular, laboratories in healthcare and education, pharmacies, testing and research and development facilities, and other applications such as restaurant kitchens and dental offices. The model also provides dependability and long-lasting performance. The faucet can be activated by three different options – two handle hot and cold ceramic control valves, single tempered water control valve or single lever manual mixing and control valve. The Halo eyewash includes an integral strainer to reduce debris in the water and prevent clogging, while the self-draining sprayhead ensures no stagnant water remains for any bacteria to grow.

In addition, the eyewash is fully functional even under low water pressure conditions (30psi). The Halo eyewash is mounted lower to the deck rather than on the top of the faucet, providing more convenient and comfortable use of the emergency fixture compared with competitive models on the market, and reinforcing stability and durability of the fixture during use.

“The space-saving design of this Swing-Activated fixture has been very popular with our customers,” Pfund said. “Plus, workers can have peace of mind knowing that Halo eyewash, designed with fluid dynamics technology, has provided the most effective washdown coverage and spray pattern available for emergency use.”
