PMmag.com Wins National Award

PMmag.com was honored with one of only six "Grand Awards" among 355 Web and Intranet site entries in the 1999 APEX Awards for Publication Excellence competition.

Out of 4,900 entries, only a total of 58 APEX Grand Awards were presented. The rare Grand Award honors outstanding work within 11 major categories.

PMmag.com is managed by Joseph Ursitti, managing editor of PM, Jennifer Hall>, Webmaster of PM's parent company, Business News Publishing Co., and Jenny Kunkel, Web designer for BNP.

The APEX competition is sponsored by the editors of Writing Concepts: The Business Communications Report, published by Communications Concepts Inc., Springfield, Va. APEX Awards are based on "excellence in graphic design, editorial content and the ability to achieve overall communications excellence."

The panel of judges for APEX '99 include John De Lellis, Concepts editor and publisher, Dr. Paul Fisher, Concepts senior evaluator and formerly professor of journalism with the University of Missouri School of Journalism, and Nancy Rathbun Scott, contributing editor of Writing That Works: The Business Communications Report.

Launched in December 1997, this is PMmag.com's first APEX award. Nearly 9,000 people visit the site monthly, producing more than 30,000 page impressions and 110,000 hits.
