“It will give students a much more flexible schedule,” said Dina Dwyer-Owens, president and CEO of The Dwyer Group. “During past WIT classes, a lot of women could not enroll because of the 8 to 5 class time and the demands of their existing jobs and families.”
Classes will be held on the TSTC campus every Monday and Wednesday, Sep. 22 – Dec. 17, from 6 p.m.-9 p.m. Women who enroll will learn skills in plumbing and drain cleaning that may help them pursue a career in the field. Each student who completes the WIT program also will receive 80 hours towards her journeyman’s license as a master plumber.
Cost for the course will be $350 per student, and scholarships are available through The Waco Foundation for students who qualify. You can enroll by contacting David Meine with TSTC’s Continuing Education department at 254/867-3113 or 800/792-8784, ext. 3113. Applications can be picked up at TSTC and at The Dwyer Group.
