Jay R. Smith'sHydrotrol unit is constructed entirely of stainless steel and uses heavy-duty balanced expansion bellows to internally absorb the hydrostatic shock pressure occurring in water lines. The bellows are pneumatically and hydraulically controlled in pressurized expansion chambers so they never come into metal-to-metal contact with other parts of the unit.
