J. F. Ahern Co.has recently purchased the assets ofAirgasNorth Central’s Fire Services Division. The two parties plan to consummate the transaction on February 1, 2011. The fire equipment business includes 40 employees, who Ahern plans to hire as part of the acquisition.
The acquisition allows Ahern to increase the reach of its fire equipment sales and service business, while enabling Airgas to focus on its core operations of distributing industrial, medical and specialty gases, along with related equipment and supplies.
As an established fire equipment supplier serving a similar geographic region, Ahern plans to continue to provide exceptional service to existing Airgas clients. Ahern is a licensed and authorized distributor for many fire equipment manufacturers and suppliers, including Amerex, Ansul, Brooks, Fenwal, Getz Manufacturing, JL Industries, Kidde, Larsen Products, and more, which is congruent with the product line acquired from Airgas.
