Effective Jan. 1, 2009, Cambridge Lee Industries will reduce the number
of lengths of linesets to the four most popular sizes sold in the air
conditioning and refrigeration market. The four lengths will be 25, 30, 35 and
50 footers. According to the company, these four lengths represent more than 90
percent of linesets currently sold in the United States today.
Cambridge lee also announced it will eliminate
offering linesets with ¼ and 3/16 insulation. With the introduction of the 13
SEER minimum requirement for new installations of air conditioning systems and
stricter code enforcement, these smaller sizes of insulation are becoming
obsolete. Linesets will be available with 3/8, ½ and ¾ insulation.
“These decisions will contribute to more
efficient inventory management of
linesets for both the wholesale distributors and manufactures. It will also
require less warehouse space and greatly reduce the number SKUs,” Cambridge Lee
said in a statement. “Cambridge Lee Industries,LLC has surveyed
many wholesale distributors this past year, and has received the wholehearted
support for implementing these changes.”
