More of the nation’s
apartments and condominiums are going green as multifamily builders and
developers respond to growing consumer interest in sustainable building
practices, according to a recent survey by the NAHB.
The Santa Fe home uses 80 percent less energy. It includes a
5,000-gallon rainwater collection system, and a solar system that provides hot
water and radiant heat.
As part of its online series of green building instruction,
the MCAA and the MSCA have announced a new Webinar titled “Green Means
Business” scheduled for Aug. 20.
As
part of its efforts to encourage water efficiency across the country, the U.S.
Environmental Protection Agency announced that five builders will participate
in the Water-Efficient Single-Family New Homes Pilot Program.
