Fluidmaster has established a scholarship program to assist students that plan to enroll full-time in the Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors Association of Orange County, Riverside and San Bernardino (PHCC-ORSB) four-year Journeyman Plumbing Training Program. The student recipients will receive a $3,500 award and up to six awards will be granted.
Applicants to the Fluidmaster PHCC Scholarship Program must be high school seniors, graduates or GED recipients who have completed the Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors Association (PHCC) Ride and Decide Program who plan to enroll in the full-time study in the PHCC-ORSB four-year program in August/September 2019.
"Plumbing is a very lucrative career with great job security," said John Wohlfiel, Fluidmaster vice president, human resources. According to the U.S. Department of Labor's Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), employment for plumbers is projected to grow 16 percent from 2016 to 2026, much faster than the average for all occupations.
"These students are the future of our industry, so we're thrilled to be able to help propel them to the next level of their career in plumbing," Wohlfiel said.
The program is administered by Scholarship America, the nation's largest designer and manager of scholarship, tuition assistance and other education support programs fro corporations, foundations, associations and individuals.
